Krel-Maria Thys is vrederechter te Kontich, geschiedschrijver, geboren te Tongeren, op 24 april 1838, zoon van Jan-Karel en van Jozefa Loverix. De in het fonds bewaarde handschriften hebben betrekking op uitgegeven studies, doch een aantal ervan blijken onuitgegeven en zijn meestal niet afgewerkt of persklaar; vaak gaat het enkel om aantekeningen.
